What is Prosper202?
Prosper202 is software that, at its core, allows you to track who is clicking on your links. This is especially important if you are sending people to your website from another location, or running them through a landing page or redirect.
With a Prosper202 link, you will be able to see not only the number of clicks on a given link, but also the date, time, IP info, and other data.
Prosper202 has a very simplified setup process. You will need to own a domain name and have hosting associated with it. Simply download the file and follow the easy instructions on uploading it to your server.
I recommend FileZilla for transferring files to and from your server. You can use FTP (File Transfer Protocol) to connect with your server. If you are not sure how to set it up, ask your hosting provider to create an FTP account for you. They will provide a user name, password, and url for you to type into the connection wizard. After that, it’s like transferring files between folders on your computer.
You’ll have to set up a MySQL database much like for a wordpress installation.
After that, Prosper202 sets itself up in minutes, and although the developers say it doesn’t work on subdomains, I have had no problem using subdomains with my installations.
