How to Disable Notifications in AccessPress Parallax

How to disable the “this theme recommends the following plugin” dashboard notification when using AccessPress Parallax Theme

Are you tired of seeing this?

“This theme recommends the following plugins: AccessPress Custom CSS, AccessPress Social Counter, AccessPress Social Icons and AccessPress Social Share plugins.”

Or is your client tired of seeing this?

“Sorry, but you do not have the correct permissions to install the AccessPress Custom CSS, AccessPress Social Counter, AccessPress Social Icons and AccessPress Social Share plugins. Contact the administrator of this site for help on getting the plugins installed.”

Here’s how to get rid of the annoying message that appears at the top of the WordPress admin dashboard on every. single. page.

Find the following AccessPress Parallax theme file:

wp-content/themes/accesspress-parallax/inc/accesspress-plugin-activation.php

Find the following function in that file:

public function notices() {

There should be a comment underneath that looks like this:

// Remove nag on the install page.

Change

if ( $this->is_tgmpa_page() ) {

return;

}

to

if ( true ) {

return;

}

That’s it! You’ve effectively disabled the AccessPress plugin notification. Remember that you will need to update any plugins you use manually from now on.

Why not use an AccessPress Parallax Child theme?

Won’t this change be erased during the next AccessPress Parallax theme update? Yes, it will. And yes, I’ve tried making a child theme for AccessPress Parallax. It broke the theme. Oops. You can bookmark this page instead and re-insert the code if necessary.
